Finally catching up on the old news... One week ago today we were on day #10 of our trip. We woke up in Maine (A & L's dog Haley was the messenger doing the waking in my case) and went to sleep in New York.
Some more Maine photos and a quick recap of the day await...
We started off with another breakfast at the Nazinscot Farm Store, which Ed described so fondly in a previous post. This time, I had a homemade doughnut and an egg sandwich, featuring homemade bread, some sausage, and their signature tomato/apple/pepper/onion relish. It was very tasty. Then A & L gave us a tour of Bates College before taking us to the train station in Portland.
Here are some photos that Len took which remind us of the good times had the day before. Here's Anna, Ed, and me atop Morse Mountain:
Here's me and Ed (apparently texting) at the Dolphin Marina:
And here are the four of us, post-lobster feast:
We took the Amtrak train from Portland to Boston, then the commuter rail from North Station to South station, and finally another Amtrak train from Boston to NYC. We got into Penn St around 9 PM. We wandered out and found a nice Italian place for dinner, but didn't do much else that night.
